Small stones, matched by hand. Melee is where consistency matters most and is hardest to get- a pave line is only as good as its worst stone. We sort ours to match in color and cut before a parcel ever leaves us, in white, salt and pepper, champagne, and black.
The Step Cut
Long parallel facets cut in tiers, running to a straight-edged outline. No crushed ice, no scintillation- step cuts trade glitter for depth, returning light in wide planes that draw the eye down into the stone. With so few facets and such open planes, there is nowhere for a poorly made stone to hide.
